Single Day Trip

Duration
Who is it for

You arrive at Kulusuk Airport, where we meet you and assist with your luggage before a short walk to the pier. From here, we board the boat and begin our Arctic journey along the coast.

By evening, we reach our pre-prepared campsite, where a late dinner is served and the first night in the East Greenlandic wilderness begins.

The vast, ice-producing Sermilik Fjord is a must-see and a true paradise for photographers. Icebergs of every size, shape and colour drift through the fjord – many calved from the Greenland Ice Cap, with some ice dating back as much as 30,000 years.

During your journey, you will have the opportunity to taste traditional Greenlandic foods. Fresh fish, seal and whale meat are available for those interested, followed by quiet evenings around a driftwood fire, watching the sun set over the Arctic landscape.

We visit several fishing areas for Arctic char, including hidden inland locations reached on foot. These hikes lead through truly majestic landscapes, far from any marked routes or settlements.

The region holds numerous ancient ruins and winter houses built from stone and turf. We visit selected sites and share stories about how they were constructed, how people lived, and how food was preserved through the Arctic winters.

After full days of exploration, nights are spent in your own tent, surrounded by silence and Arctic air – ensuring a deep and restful sleep.

We aim to visit the three small settlements of Tiniteqilaaq, Kuummiut and Sermiligaaq, each set against dramatic mountain backdrops and fjord scenery. In the villages, there are opportunities to shop for food and snacks, and to use shower facilities at the local public service houses.
